glass / carbon Lay up experts - how to?

I've done plenty of layup of most kinds over the years, but I've never tackled anything of tubular type construction and as a result, not really sure where one would start or how. I've got several things I'd like to do using hollow or tubular parts but always shied away, decided it's time to crack on.

So.. how?

As an example, I'd like to make this out of glass, maybe later in carbon (it's a bit of a simplified sketch, but gives the general idea)
