I will be away from the UK for 3-6 months this year. I thought that rather than let my TVR T350C grow weeds I should probably try to get it to earn some money.

Are there performance hire firms/car clubs that would take such a vehicle for that time period, and rent it out on my behalf and is it a good idea?

I presume most well run clubs will have arrangements in place for insurance, damage and wear and tear.

If anyone has done this before could they please tell me who with and how it went.

Nope, I was thinking along the lines of this sort of establishment.

http://www.clubgt.co.uk/cars.html

I'd want some sort of method of dealing with maintenance or people ragging it, perhaps some sort of "put option" so after 6 months if it comes back shabby they have to buy it off you at an agreed rate.

:scrathchin: I personally wouldn't let anyone i'd never met touch let alone drive my pride and joy, but each to their own I suppose aslong as its properly insured etc........ but a speed six engine rebuild is horrendously expensive eek

No, but then I tend to drive the car onto the ramps for the MOT and no-one else drives her.... I couldn't even contemplate letting a bunch of strangers loose on my Chimaera.

rolleyes Not a Bad first car .... never the less it's my pride and joypunch In the context above I'm saying it wouldn't be a good idea to loan a TVR to anyone you don't know as the same with any car you care about.

Would a track based supercar experience day be any safer? You could fit a speed/rev limiter to save on wear.

You'd be seriously unhappy to be the owner of this who gave it to a company to rent out

Some of the comments on that article, fk me. How dare someone work hard and reward themselves with a £100k car, how dare he!
