I'm interested to see how hard pistonheaders drive on the public road, when out for a drive or having some fun? My scale may not be the same as everyone's, but it should give a bench mark.

I used to drive at 8 or 9/10. But found i would occasional slip into (or past) 10/10th. I had a crash which opened my eyes a bit, and now rarely push past 7/10ths.

When I had my primera, if I was out for a hoon, then about 8.

Now I have a little 106 I'm probably a bit more sedate because I've rediscovered understeer now.

7/8 for me. Don't really want to bin my car or endanger someones life through my own stupidity. The sillyness can be saved for the track.

Well as I've got 310 bhp and 345lb/ft the car barely breaks into a sweat - which is kind of the point.

If, however I was trying to keep up in my first Sud, a 1.5 SC, I'd be driving it on it door handles......

Thats pretty much my view as well. Interesting to see that the early results are showing over 50% at 6/10ths or lower.

7-10th's for me obviously only when appropriate and depending how well I know the road........ It all relies in Road condition Grip to speed estimation for me.

I would hope that folk going beyond 7/10ths on a PUBLC road
get rogered by the police.

Save the heroics for the track.

+1 not really worth pushing it to the limit on the road.

5/10ths all the time really. Where live there are too many pedestrians, buses etc to hit if you were to drive spiritedly. And if i go out towards derbyshire/the peak district, then i run the risk of meeting someone else coming the other way driving at 10/10ths. Besides, you cant really hoon in a 1700kg 110bhp stroen c4, it couldnt pull the cock of a chocolate mouse

Is your C4 really 1700kg? I know modern cars get portlier every generation, but I would expect large executive cars and off-roaders to weigh around that much and more, not a family hatchback.

Yep, 1710kg IIRC. Don't forget though, it's 14' long, so it's no surprise it weighs that much. The one i could never get over was my clio 172, weighing over 1300kg

Depends on the road/country.

This country and out for a hoon then maybe 7 - 8 10ths, On the continent up on an Alp or similar then upto 10 depending on how evident the long drop is eek

According to parkers, a C4 is about 1200KG. I'd be really shocked if it weighed 1700KG.

No you won't - you'll drive as the Police permit you to.

If you're driving a 1.1 Peugeot 106 then you could probably drive it at 10/10ths on suitable roads without getting into trouble. If you've got an M5 then anything beyond about 3/10 is going to see you get regular attention.

Difficult to say, I stay slow for corners and junctions, no tyre squeal, but will happily push on at speed on straight roads, and boot it from traffic lights if road ahead is clear.

I'm guessing your datsun was a 2 ltr mk1. , best chassis ever created for lift off oversteer. Loved mine to bits, now I'm stuck with a Z4M, such hardship.
