Standing start and rolling performance difference between

A TVR Tuscan(mk 1 standard) that I used to own and my Merc E55 AMG, from standstill I don't think there is alot in it for the say 0-60 although the TVR was easier to get moving as the traction control wasn't there and the engine was revvier. When you get moving though the E Class genuinely feels faster than the Tuscan from say 50-70 and maybe well beyond but it's hard to compare without driving them one after the other but the huge torque that the 55K engine has really makes the car shift and it definatly feels more stable at speed.
Not knocking the Tuscan at all to me it's still one of the best looking cars ever made and when mine did work it was brilliant but I really have a weakness for the German 'bahn stormers now, has anyone driven both one after the other?, as it's harder to compare cars when you haven't driven one of them for a while.

Just shows that power isn't everything. I used to have a 300bhp front wheel drive car, and a mate had a 4wd Turbo with around 250bhp.
Official 0-60 times showed the Impreza was over a second quicker.
Off the line I wouldn't stand a chance against the Impreza, but once up to motorway speeds I was able to pull away from him slowly.

On paper thier pretty similar performance wise but the AMG really pulls like a train which is something although fast the TVR never felt like to the same degree, both cars are great in thier own ways but after owning both I doubt I would go back to another TVR.
I guess the main problem with 300 BHP through the front is getting it to go where you want and the power down, on a motorway it would be less of an issue and the power advantage of your car over the Subaru would start to show.
