Currently at 25 gold, 35 silver, 0 bronze including all gold in the s-licence...was a struggle to just get silver on a few for me so I don't think I'll manage it hehe

I'm at 50 gold so far. Not looking forward to s license. IA-10 is frustrating enough...

Currently have no gold......perhaps I am not the driving god I thoughts I was biggrin

To be fair I have only done the 1st license, and only did each test once I passed and moved on to the next regardless of the cup colour.

I found the S tests much easier and less frustrating than IA-10. I usually tried them once or twice to see where the best overtaking points are and what position I should be in when. For example, the Monza one (S-3 IIRC) requires diving up the inside of the first corner braking hard to slip in front of 8th so that you can keep up along the following straight.

I've all gold, but 3 or four of the tests were tricky. Worst for me was the Lambo race in which I lost a few hours of my life.

I had 2 weeks without internet over christmas so I decided to get them done. There is nothing too difficult, a bit of practise on the more difficult ones and it is manageable.

I'm all gold too. I always do the licences before the game to get a headstart on cars! I found the tests a lot easier than on previous versions of the game.

The most frustrating thing is the AI cars deliberately side swiping and dq'ing me. I'd get to second place during lap 1 on IA-10 only to be knocked out by the opposition......

The AI cars don't deliberately side swipe you unless you pull Kamikazee overtaking moves on them and take away their space whilst expecting them not to make the corner. They'll actually move well out of their way if you squeeze past them in a more customary overtaking manoeuvre on the licenses and lower A-Spec levels.

I found the hardest ones to be the stopping challenge in the Aston, and the various slalom challenges. Most of the others were pretty simple, though IC-10 took a few goes. The S-license was mostly a joke compared to the earlier 'overtake all in a lap' challenges.

Got 59 gold and 1silver. Still can't get within 0.65 seconds of the slalom in the FR car on the TG test track.

This one was a pain until I went no TC, no ABS, foot flat to the floor on start. Then it worked easily.

I struggle on the slaloms too - what's the secret, are you oversteering/sliding around the cones towards the end or is a smooth and steady slower in mph terms approach the best?

I found that there's a point in the middle, where you're still 'stable' at the highest speed you can manage, but you start to lose it one or two cones later. Adjust your line and back off a little bit at this middle point, usually just one turn, and then you should be able to do the end section at full speed, the same as the first section.

Anyone got all gold in the AMG special events? My pace seems to be firmly in silver territory around the 'ring.

I have gold in the first two sections of the beginner event, but then I saw the prize cars for all gold in the rest and decided that it wasn't worth my time. Perhaps when I've completed the game I'll come back to them, but it just seems that the time and effort required to get gold in the licenses and events just isn't well rewarded in game terms. frown

yeah, I have gold in every Special event apart from the Vettel challenge as I haven't unlocked it yet.

I think its very easy to give the cones too much space and you end up basically making the course a lot tighter and twistier than it actually is. When I did the first one in the Mini I was getting some nice lift off oversteer drifts through the later cones and thought it was a quick time only to find that I was about 2s away from getting a bronze! hehe

It will probably take several attempts as you'll invariably clip the odd cone on the way but if you try and straight line it as much as possible and keep the car from sliding too much then you should get through it. Also try and apex the cones as early as possible through the first cones and don't follow the racing line if it's on (which just goes through the middle and goes too wide), if you get early apexes whilst going slowly, as you pick up speed and the car starts to understeer or push wide you'll have enough space to let that happen, you're effectively making the later cones a bit further spread out and so can take them faster.
