Yes. I took out multi cover for my Jaguar and TVR. It cost £105 and so far they have paid up £211 for some work on the Jag. Limit is 5 claims per year up to £500 each claim.

Only used once with no problems. Seized front caliper. You have to pay the first £25 I think

Had the cover for 2 years on my T350, only trouble is I've never needed it. Your car must be broken down and recovered to kick start the cover but from talking with my mechanic they are very good at paying out. I only wish my clutch had actually failed last year rather that being able to limp to the garage - could have done with £500 towards that repair bill and service.

Well, I just tried and they're not impressed with my Chimaera (year 2000), saying it's too old. This presumably will exclude a very high percentage of TVRs.

They sent me an invite to buy the repair cover after they came out to me recently, when I had a flat battery on the Tuscan. Maybe a call rather than doing it online will do the trick.

I didn't think you could do this cover on-line (full 3rd party warranty maybe but this is different). The elegibilty is beloe copied from the T&Cs - possible I guess they are classing the TVR as a kit car but I've had no problems putting my 54 plate on this cover;

I had home start / relay and something else which was costing me £10pm. Got the renewal through and now they want £16pm. I know tax has gone up but that's taking the pi$$ a bit i think.

I think that if you are an existing customer its fine? Maybe try and cover a modern newish car and then move the cover later?

I have never had probs covering any of my TVRs albeit I guess the oldest a car has been is maybe 6 years when I incepted the cover. I have moved the cover to other cars in the gaps between TVRs.

I have had the same problem for the last 2 years with my family policy.
If you ring them and complain they will do it at the same discounted price as the previous year

I took this out for my 98 Chim. The website didn't work for me either (car not recognised) so I called them and the took my money over the phone. Slightly increased premium as the car was over the age 'limit' they quote but they didn't have any problems insuring me. They even matched the web offer over the phone. Only issue I had with the whole experience was missing out on some serious Quidco cash by not being able to buy online.

Claims experience was good too. Steering UJ went just before Xmas. I went by the book and called the AA out to have the car recovered, all done very efficiently. Only issue was that the garage managed to ease the seized UJ when the removed it for inspection and AA wouldn't pay for the 'repair' - they will only pay if a part is REPLACED. This seemed horribly wasteful and I had it out with them on the phone but to no avail. Anyway, when I picked the car up I drove it 20 miles and it just didn't feel right so I popped back to the garage where I called the AA claims team and they agreed to not only pay for the replacement and labour costs but also paid for an hour of the initial investigation so I'm reasonably happy with the service and the insurance has already paid for itself.

Recommended but read the T's & C's.

Was looking at the RAC version of this today as already with them, one thing which looked slightly odd is the clutch repair:

We cover the cost of parts and labour† for the repair and/or replacement of the following:

* Turbo supercharger*
* Drive system
* Steering
* Cooling systems
* Wheel bearings
* Electrics
* Timing belts
* Gearbox**
* Brakes***
* Electronic - control units
* Propshaft
* Front/rear suspension
* Clutch^
* Casings

• When fitted as standard by the manufacturer

• Manual, automatic, CTX or CVT transmissions

• *Excludes brake pads and brake shoes

^Excludes worn out clutch/friction surface.

I would read this as they do not cover clutch repair??

The same applies with AA re clutch (I think). They will pay for slaves and broken fingers.

They'll probably pay out on bearing failures on clutches, I had one go on an old beamer and it was covered under a warranty, though general wear to the friction surface wasn't
