A few months ago my parents got a rescue dog. His name is Toby and he has a few odd habits, one of which is sleeping like this :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvOJbwjnFmk

He doesn't even move when he wakes up, he just lies there on his back and looks around. I've owned a few dogs over the years and I've never seen one that sleeps like this! It's quite amusing though... does anyone else have a dog that does this?

Yep our Springer Jess has been known to sleep on her back too. Toby looks very cute though, and good on your parents for picking a rescue dog! Any more pics?

A couple of pics of Toby...

Every dog we've had has been a rescue dog. Last one was called Benji, and he was a loony, used to like chewing rocks... he had cataracts, kidney troubles, arthritis and everything, but he was just the cutest dog ever...

Both are gorgeous.

My Springer sleeps on his back a lot and spends a fair bit of his time upside down licking the contents of a Kong, or maybe mouthing a toy - he's very good at holding things between his paws for long periods >proud dad<
