Every day in the newspapers, on the radio and tv is someone, usually a politician or a journalist blaming bankers for all and sundry. I'm not a banker, but I'm getting sick of this ongoing witch-hunt.

It seems like only a single state-controlled bank will keep these people happy.

Never - it's too a good smoke screen for the real thieves to hide behind.

Until they've all moved east where people still respect education, hard work and nice cars.

Never, they're far too easy a target in a country where success and high achievment is something to be mocked.

To be fair, they've not all exactly been a "success" have they?

Not until the mis-allocation of human capital that it represents has been corrected.
Heavy taxation and regulatory requirements should help smile

Again this has been covered... those that have not been a success are quickly dropped, but if you know of any that are still in work please do tell...

All those in RBS, etc... have all been removed.

When we all live in equal sized mud huts with a wheel barrow each for shopping.

Until then everything is their fault, even the sun coming up early in Greenland is down to them.

Would they prop up a failing bank in those countries?

The UK must actually be one of the best countries in the world to be in banking.

Success was perhaps a poor choice of words, the screwed up but as far as I understand it that's mostly paid back now? No? Obviously there were wider consquences but that wasn't exaclty primarly their fault was it?

I was just commentating on that attitude that seems to imply that it's the fault of those with the most money.

Everyone involved in unsuccessful parts of RBS has been removed?

Savers are getting ravaged, and most house borrowers are basking in the sunshine.
Banks continue to levy huge fees and punitive interest rates to small and medium sized enterprises, and make mega profits.

And all because who screwed up?

How many Bankers got put away?

I do actually. If you work for RBS or know people from RBS then I'm sure you do also.

Once everyone can get cheap loans, and easy credit cards again. When people have filled their living rooms with massive 50" TVs, and a brand new car sat outside on a credit agreement, they won't care about the risks.

The Left will always blame what they call 'High Finance' for 'preventing' Socialism, comrade. Ignoring the fact that Socialism falls over on it's own anyway. This time there is just more appearance of good reason and they are making the most of it.

Either when the country gets back on its feet again, or something bigger happens and a new crisis looms with new bogey men until then it's pick on the bankers.

Here here just like the rest of us that are sick of the narrow mindness of it all. ;-)
