Right, off the back of the 333bhp/tonne thread I figured it would be good fun to have some hot hatch races.

Format being we can do it via the 333 lobbies and swap between the 2 formats as we please.

As for cars, i think it should be open to any FF 'hot hatch', tyres should be sports soft as a max. I'm thinking standard everything bar tyres.

We could set a power limit but then setups Start to come into it and it's gets to competitive! I'm easy with whatever the consensus is.

We could start a car list but I'm at work and can't be arsed. The bigger variety the better IMO!

As always anyone is welcome and all ideas welcome.

Im in, this gives me chance to run some of the cars i have managed to collect, as long as its completely standard racing (like you said, no mods etc)sounds like a load of fun!

The problem with leaving the cars standard is everyone will end up using the same car. A power/weight limit at least allows cars that would be uncompetitive in standard form a chance.

I'd suggest something like 250bhp/1000kg

Fair point Ian, only reason for completely standard is that I don't have the time or inclination to start playing all the tiny settings and standard keeps it a level playing ground. Hmm food for thought!

I'm in but keep the power only and tyres limit. Let's not get too anal about it. Have some fun!

Anyway the weight reductions are not too expensive and doesn't seem to affect my lap times anyway.

I'm on tonight at 8pm.

I'm up for this, sounds a good laugh. I reckon all stock/standard cars, with sports tyres would be good fun.

I'll be online tonight too. Might have to buy something new though if we're going totally standard - I do the stage 1 weight reduction as part of my 'standard' basic mods.

I'll be playing in the ASBO smile

We could try it standard and then if one car is clearly faster we can go from there. We could always do a 'trackday' format, like stage 1 weight, tyres and exhaust + filter. Like most trackday cars have.

Sounds a great idea.

Be good if we could keep the power and weight to levels that can be reached by as many cars as possible, otherwise everyone is likely to use Integras and ST's only.

How about 305 bhp and 1000kg? Should be easily acheivable by Golfs, Minis, C4s, Clios etc.

Sports soft maximum.

No aero.

Tbh I'm leaning towards totally standard but with sports soft tyres. Keeps it simple!

Wouldn't everyone end up using the most powerful FF car?

But its only for a bit of fun, you get to drive the hot hatch how you like, although if its on a short circuit then it would matter too much on power more handling.

would they though... as it has to come under the 'hot hatch' catagory....

147GTA shouldnt be THAT much quicker than focus ST/RS, megane 225, Clio 172, or either Civic type R.

tbh i wouldnt class an Integra as hot hatch purely as its more of a self standing sports car.

im not sure, we can try it and if its crap then sure set some limits but without trying it...

Ok, cool. So is it 100% standard except for tyres?

I'd be up for this a couple of times a week, PSN id is Locoblade_ if anyone wants to add me.

I like the idea of standard cars in some ways although most I've used don't seem to handle particularly well straight out the tin so that might also drive everyone to the same few cars, that do actually handle OK, the Mk5 Golf GTi I tried stock on the ring challenge for example was understeer city until I put half decent suspension on it.

So why don't we set 3 control cars, we all race in the same one in the same race and rotate the three?
