Hi All

I recently paid a bill over the telephone for 300 pounds using my debit card. Checking the account balance on the banks website straight after it showed there was 300 pounds due to be taken (comparing available balance to actual balance) but now over a week later it no longer shows a difference (other than transactions I can account for) but the money still hasn't left my account. I have contacted the firm and they insist they have recieved payment.

So

A) have my bank cocked up? B)If so should I ring them and make them aware? or C)Should I sit tight and see happens?

Cheers

sit tight until the bank sends you a statement that covers the period in which the transaction was made

I've seen that before, and the money came out within the next day or so. Hang fire and the money will disappear shortly

Im sure your right but it has been over 10 days now which is unusual for a debit transaction particuly as it was showing as pending but now its not.

I used to use my debit card to pay my credit card bill and every month it was exactly as you describe. If I looked at my bank balance it would show the payment pending and then after a few days the balances would tie up and then a couple of days later the money would disappear.
