3000wt Inverter... Best Batteries?
Discussion
Help guys! Out "on the cut" with what transpires as 3 "starter" batteries, not deep syc... Got a 3000w inverter to be fitted, but the batteries installed at the moment won't even hold the charge long enough to play, say iPod speakers for an hour, on an 800w inverter. Current batteries are obviously fecked; what would you guys suggest here? "Normal" life... a full eve of TV / hoovering etc can be expected / enjoyed without running the engine? HELP!!!

They specialise in deep cycle and solar charge batteries, including specific ones for use with inverters.

I'm getting to grips with what batteries can and can't do on my own boat. 'Starter' batteries are designed to start engines, ie high current for a short time. I'm not surprised they won't run a TV and vacuum cleaner - hence 'lesiure' batteries were devised. But strapping an inverter on doesn't give you unlimite 'mains'.
Are you sure your demands are realistic; ie do other boat owners use TVs and vacuum cleaners all evening quite happily on batteries?
