Can anyone help out with a pic of this colour. I have signed the papers for a tuscan (2002)from racing green but have to wait 2 weeks for rims etc to be sorted, and the family/friends etc can't understand my (colourful if inaffective) attempts at explanation...

Lovely

Dont mean to highjack the thread to much, but Ive always wondered, how do they get the paint to look like that?

Nice looking motor, that one - saw it in the flesh just the other day.

Don't bother trying to explain it to them - just say you haven't decided on a blue one or a green one yet!

Alternatively find Tiff Needel's Tuscan clip from Top Gear - has Luca Brazzi or someone got that?

The paint is magnetically charged so it effectively faces different directions. So when you look from one direction it's green and another is blue.

Also why it's easy to touch up any stone chips etc..

Beano - thanks for the sentiment but I'm Slumming it with a dial up connection - I think the car would arrive before I could hope to download anything!

aha. there was an article on that very subject a few weeks ago in New Scientist.

It's basically to do with the paint containing nano-particles which absorb light of certain frequencies or summit. i.e. it is not a conventional pigment based colour. It was an interesting article... although clearly went in one ear and out the other.

So if you sellotape a magnet to a peice of plastic, it stops being magnetic does it?

So now you're saying that as well as being magnetically charged the paint is also held on by sellotape!
