RV8 idle rpm?

What do peoples RV8s idle at, when the car is warmed-up etc..?

Mine was mapped to idle at 1000rpm (when the stepper is functioning correctly!) - but at this RPM the engine loses that classic "slow burble" that I hear from other peoples cars... (which I love & miss)

What is the norm? I want the classic idle sound, but don't want it set too low so that the car cuts out on overrun etc...

Could you let me know what your idle rpm is, and what size engine it is..?

Without having to take her cover off and take her for a really long drive to check! about 800.

I've always set my hot idle to 1K on the basis that it keeps the oil pressure up and the coolant circulating a bit better (4.3L BV on MoTeC).

somewhere between 850 and 1500 rpm, depending on how clean me steppor motor is at the time

I run mine at 1000-1200 as its better for the Camshaft, plus its a flapper so a bit more temperamental
