I got the Smokey and the Bandit box set for christmas. I have seen the first one countless times and love it, it is a classic. However, I watched the 2nd one last night, hadn't seen it since I was a kid. What a load of bks! The car is hardly in it, when it is it isn't being driven that fast, the music is appaling, the jokes are stupid.

Most of the film was like a rom com, that wasn't that funny. I can see why Burt Reynolds didn't want to be in the 3rd.

Very disapointed.

Agree. The original is probably my all time fav film, but the 2nd one just missed the mark by 100 miles or more. The 3rd one was still about 95 miles wide of the mark, but a way better film than the 2nd one. Although no Bandit and it's an early 3rd Gen TA which just isn't the same and a 77 6.6 T/A SE.

yup 2 & 3 were a shame.

I'm just waiting for the remake, probably with Johhny Knoxville as bandit, what would the car be this time and who would play snowman and frog?

Go in with low expectations and at least that way you won't be disappointed... wink

he would be st in that role. he was awful in dukes of hazzard.

they need someone with some acting credibility not mtv credibility.

seann scott williams would've made a better bandit.

The car would be whoever pays the most, so probably VW or BMW or GM if the latter are aloud to spend the money frown

Good point, based on recent films and investment from car makers it will be an Audi A7. I do like Audis but that would be wrong on so many levels.

Forget who Hollywood would chose, what and who would you go for?

I vote for Liam Neeson as the Bandit, Shelby Mustang for the car and Brian Cox as Buford T Justice. cool

The car would have to the the Year One "Burt Ryynolds" Edition T/A, as seen in Fast and Furious.

I went and watched no 3. Slighly better than no 2, the music is better, but the car is crap. Plus the woman he picks up looks like a cross between blackadder II and cheryl baker.

"In 1976, Pontiac celebrated their 50th Anniversary, and a special edition of the Trans Am was released. Painted in black with gold accents, this was the first anniversary Trans Am package and the first production Black and Gold special edition. In 1977, Pontiac offered the T/A 6.6 Litre 400 (RPO W72) rated at 200 hp (150 kW)"

200hp!!!

Doesn't that sound weedy these days.
