Birth - is it really that painful?
Discussion
Currently browsing the net as the partner is watching 'One born every minute' (the channel 4 show where they follow Southampton maternity ward).
Now in the past I have worked part time on various farms during the birthing season (as a Taff it'd be rude not to
) and sheep, cows, dogs, horses give birth without any problems or any excessive noise, in fact their offspring seem to slip out no problem and it's not an issue. So why is it that women howl like a rabid bulldog with its b
ks trapped in the door when they are squeezing a sprog out?
Just wondering

Not as bad as they make out:
Woman - has baby, complains for a lifetime about the pain but a few years later wants another baby.
Man - gets kicked in the balls. Have you ever heard a man say "you know what, I quite fancy another kick in the balls".
Therefore being kicked in the balls in more painful than childbirth. Just men don't whinge.

I was going to point out some obvious flaws to the OP but, honestly I think you've covered it.Woman - has baby, complains for a lifetime about the pain but a few years later wants another baby.

Robin Williams put it best on "Live from the Met" some years ago.
"You (the bloke) think you are sharing the experience in the labour ward, you ain't doing diddly. Try passing a bowling ball. Take an umbrella, show it up your ass and open it. Now your getting closer..." etc.
And from experience, yes childbirth is a painful experience. It took some days to get my wife's fingernail impressions out of my wrist, which as you can imagine was quite a bad thing to happen - she nearly broke the skin.
She said it hurt her a bit too.

Epidurals are the best things since sliced beef.
My better had had 24hrs of labour. It kept me awake.... maybe the excitement of being a daddy. She had gas and air, that was it.
She was in labour for 24hrs and gave birth to a child with a head bigger than 90% of other children. She was fine. She wants another already and he's only 5 months old.
It hurt her, she found re stitching was worse than giving birth. Women can bear pregnancy. They just think they can get by with new methods. Epidurals and pethidine cause more problems for children than gas and air.

Our second child, after a 40 odd hour labour with our first child we had expected.another long labour. As it turned out, he was in a hurry and there was no time for any pain relief.
My wife gave birth with no pain relief at all, except for squeezing my hand during the contractions.
So I can say with some certainty, that childbirth hurts. My hand has never really recovered.

It's a fine example....Woman - has baby, complains for a lifetime about the pain but a few years later wants another baby.
