Small Automatic 4x4 - suggestions please

As above really - ageing relative wants a 4x4 but it must be small and an auto

I have been asked for suggestions as official family car bore but I'm struggling tbh - help!

(not sure on budget but not a lot - say £10k or so max)

If just traction, then Subaru hatch, or A3/Golf Quattro/4 Motion...

Fantastic cars. My mate had one over the winter and it was roomy enough, easy to see out of and park and easy to get in and out of and relatively easy to fuel.

Can you get the Panda 4x4 in auto and isn't the new Subaru Justy AWD too?

I think it's just the traction they are after so yes, good point about the hatchbacks

Panda 4x4 is manual, Justy is no longer.

Would they be better off with something on winter or all weather tyres?

Rav4, Subaru Forester/Outback or CRV. Possibly HRV. Not much else really.
