Just got the formal letter through giving me the cost ... it is as follows

Comprehensive
£870 p.a. with £0 Excess
£679 p.a. with £100 Excess
£512 p.a. with £250 Excess

Named Component
£734 p.a. with £0 Excess
£581 p.a. with £100 Excess
£447 p.a. with £250 Excess

Driveline
£531 p.a. with £0 Excess
£435 p.a. with £100 Excess
£351 p.a. with £250 Excess

From reading the details behind the three the comprehensive covers he following additional items over the Named Component:-
Fuel Injectors
Front & Rear Suspension
Air Con system
Airbag system
OBC
Park Distance control
Sat Nav
ICE
Comms System
Dashboard display units.

The Named component has the following items over Drive line (and of course Comprehensive has these too)
Clutch (non friction items)
Steering
Braking System
Cooling System
Electrical system
Starter motor
Alternator
ECU
ABS
Fuel System

ANd finally Drive line covers the following items (likewise Named & Comprehensive also cover these):-
Engine
Timing Belts
Turbo
Auto gearbox
Final Drive
Front wheel drive unit
4WD System
Propshaft.

My cars on 75k and once you hit 100k you can only select driveline ongoing. So really for the next 12 months I can select any orclearly none.

What would people opt for?

As I understand it, if you take out the monthly policy then the milage requirement is only for when you start the policy. So when you pass the 100k mark, you'd be able to continue having the higher cover levels.
Anyhow, I've got the top level on my M3, only used it for rear springs this year, however it is peace of mind. Oh and there is also a 60k limit on some components, which it doesn't explain in the details. After 60k suspension parts are put down to wear and tear and aren't covered.
