Always seems to be the poor relation when it comes to Christmas desserts - hardly ever see it sold, but the nasty foulness that is brandy sauce is fecking everywhere.

I've just finished a 2lb bowl which I made Christmas eve, and just contemplating whether to go and buy a load of cheap mince pies to justify making another bowlful biggrin

So simple, so tasty yum

1 part icing sugar
1 part butter
Brandy to taste thumbup

Do you know, I originally wrote 2 parts sugar to 1 part butter, then thought about it and wondered if I'd really put a kilo of sugar in with 2 blocks of butter. It just seemed too much which is why I went for 1:1

I'm a great cook, me... silly

add ground almonds as well as they help to soak up the brandy - so you can add more smile
