His lap time's don't look too bad considering it's his first time in a F1 car, he's done it all in MotoGP and..., he's Italian.

I agree, impressive lap times considering his lack of experience. Would be great to see him make the leap across but can't see it happening at F1 level, there's too much for him to learn about racing cars rather than bikes. Superlicence issue could be 'interesting' although I know Bernie's keen on seeing him in F1 so that might smooth things over.
I've been following keenly Valentinos career since before he won the 125 championship. The big difference with him and averybody else (and what finally finished him with Honda, IMHO) is that he's an individual, and does what he likes, not necessarily what the Manufacturer wants. Don't forget that at Suzuka last year, Mrs Big Boss of Honda was in the pit lane with a Rossi T-Shirt on!
I hope he wins the championship this year, moves to Ducati, wins it there, then takes Schumachers drive in Ferrari and wins there.
Above all, I hope he stays uninjured.

I reckon Mark Webber could very well become the next Schumacher, or at the very least Ruebens...
IMO, Rueben will never aspire to be anything other than a good number 2!
Webber could be strong though.
A lot of people talk about Lewis Hamilton being the next big thing but everytime I've seen him race, he's planted it in the brown stuff!
Ferrari don't really like Italian drivers (historically). Fisi is driving the sauber just because he thinks it may get him in the scarlet cars, and it may bearing in mind his long experience and v good reputation. Ferarri will never take a newboy even if he is italian (he lives in london!) and would get them shed loads of media attention. They are interested in winning only and already get the media attention.
Personally I really like rossi, he's the best biker by far and he's got personality. But if he moves to 4 wheels it'll be some years off and he'll have to start lower down the ladder.
