Funny how some people confuse the statement "I'll only buy RWD cars" with "RWD makes any car good"... This thread was no doubt started to prove that some crap RWD cars have existed and appease people who mistakenly think that. However, as Kambites eloquently points out, obviously some crap RWD cars have existed because up until a few decades ago, almost all cars were RWD!!

And then we have to define what makes a car bad. And when people say "it handles badly!" we have to ask "what does handling badly mean?".

One horror of a RWD car illustrates this, the old Volvo 740/940 etc. As a tool for moving lots of stuff and people around they're brilliant. As a car for driving pleasure, they're horrific.
