Nice PC racing Sim - Suitable for a beginner!

Hi all, I'm about to take delivery of a shiny new laptop with HDMI out and a semi-respectable (ok, bog standard) Graphics Card. I was wondering if there were any racing sims that I could try out on it, to see if I like them. I love the "feel" of GT5's handling (in the premium cars), and was wondering if I could have that with some real UK circuits for example. Not too bothered about online racing, as I'll be rubbish, so I would like it to do AI opponents if possible. I'd also prefer it to have 'real' cars. I have a G25 to put to use on it.

The computers Specs are:
Intel i5 560m processor
Nvidia 420m Graphics Card (1Gb) (should push 720p reasonably well)
4Gb Ram

Any suggestions? Would people recommend rFactor over iRacing or is there something else out there I've not heard of?

Live for Speed is probably the easiest to get into - it has good physics, and requires no modifications or anything. www.liveforspeed.net. It should run without issue on your pc. This one has cars _similar_ to real ones, but not real.

rFactor is great and will run on your setup too, but the content is 99% mods by other users, so requires a lot of faffing to really get going.

You could do a lot worse than picking up an older copy of GT Legends, GTR2 or something like that, too.

Other than that, rFactor is good, but as someone else stated a faff - also Grand Prix Legends is fun but with a steep learning curve. But honestly for £24 Live for Speed is great, I am really enjoying it!

gtr evolution is pretty easy to jump into.

LFS gets my vote, downloaded the demo of Rfactor and it got deleted half a lap later, LFS has excellent physics with accurate weight transfer etc.
