BT Vision box

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a BT Vision box without it being connected to the Internet? I just want to use it like a normal Freeview box, is this possible?

AFAIK you can, but you won't be able to use the program guide or use series record etc.

Do you know how because when I turn it on it says "no internet connection" or something similar and it doesn't respond to the buttons.

We have the original silver box, not the latest black one and i seem to remember watching it without the connection. Off out now but will try it later and let you know.

Edit: tried it and no, get the same as you.

Looked at the BT forums and they say the same, no go if no BT internet connection
