LT77 Gear Lever Install

Has anyone taken out and replaced their gear lever on their LT77 gearbox? I've got a problem trying to re-fit my gear lever and I cannot recall where and how the anti rattle spring gets back into place. Does it face the front or rear of the selector slot and how do you get the thing back in.

Is the Anti Rattle Spring the spring that goes into the hole in the lever and has the ballbearing on the end?

It goes towards the back of the car IIRC
