I have a LWB Landrover with a van roof that has all the water repelling qualities of a sieve.

What would be the best way to seal it, I believe the van roofs are aluminium. Is there a paint type product (preferably Limestone-ish in colour) or does it need welding?

Planning on lining the cab and back so my current method of black bag on the seat and a coat to keep dry aren't practical on a long term basis hehe

Is it actually leaking? You may find it's condensation.

If you look in the top of the guttering there is usually a series of spot-welds.rivets all the way round. This is where they leak through. Either seal them up by slopping plenty of paint into the guttering which seeps into the gaps and dries or use a liquid windscreen sealer like Seek 'n Seal that runs down into the gaps. If your roof is unlined you're probably getting as much condensation as you are leakage - lining the roof will make a huge difference.

There is certainly a small amount of condensation but during/ after the rain it really buckets in through the seams in the roof.

Beeroad - If standard paint will do the job I'm laughing, the old girls top needs a spruce up so two birds one stone smile. Will have a look for some of the seek n seal when I next go shopping too smile

She will be ply / carpet lined (already got the gear) as I was warned about the condensation with unlined vans but I obviously want her watertight (as watertight as a 43yo Landie is ever going to get rolleyes) first.

Thank you both smile
