mk1 diesel smart cars ? any good

Hi folks i have had a few petrol smarts & enjoyed ownership of them im looking into getting a diesel one, any body had one ? its a shame the bike powered one on the ph ads is in poland as i was tempted..

I've got an 09cdi it does the job (the mk1 is the same but with 6 gears isn't it?), I've had a lot of these small a-b low emission cars and none of them ever blew my socks off. It does 500+ miles to a tank, nothing ever gone wrong with it, removing the parcel shelf thing I've actually got big things in the back, zero tax, was cheap to insure and perhaps looks more special than the other small cars. I've never had a problem with the gearbox, I have music on most the time so barely even feel it working.
