Why oh why dont manufacturers make this a proper fixture along there model ranges.

And dont say Ford have the Patent/rights as i am lead to believe that this expired a few moons ago.

Could we not set up a petition.

It is frustrating when they chuck esp , abs , ac , ps , ipod , pasm , esr , pas and every other bloody option on your motor bar one that i would give my right arm for.

Lets be honest , how many people drive there car backwards!

You're still supposed to clear the side windows though - although most Ford etc owners are obviously not aware of that.

My last Ford and current Ford have them and they are a great addition. I believe (read on here) that Ford have the patent for the technology so thats why other manufacturers don't have them.

Yeah, it's great. Had it on the focus, got it on the x-type, wish I had it on the pork.

I've had a fair few cars with it! I've started to value it even more now I have a Legacy without it for the winter.

A great feature for Ford (+ related) IMO.

But, OP, are you serious? A petition? Come now, behave... wink

I had an Aero 8 for a weekend it had front and side glass all heated. Very cool.
It did leak alot so good for de-misting and looking out of the side glass round roundabouts.

Well, the Passat has a "heated front screen" per se, well, a fan which blows really hard at the screen to clear it................. It's a good effort.

My 2006 Passat had an electrically heated screen - was an optional extra. Blows the "Ford only" theory into the weeds somewhat.

Correct, it wasn't allowed to be renewed for some reason though hence why others now have them also.

You can get them aftermarket. No idea if they're any good though.
