It looks pretty good, and has a rating of 4.2 stars out of 5.
Can anyone with an educated opinion/any opinion on turbo trainers tell me if this is any good?
It will be used to rack up winter/bad weather miles and as a replacement for the exercise bike (which is knackered!)
...Or if there is an alternative I should consider?

I put an order in for an Elite Elastogel Fluid trainer today with Wiggle:

Bit more than I'd originally planned on paying but I like the sound of the 'compass' contruction method, elastogel roller and fluid resistance. It's got a 4.6/5 from 220 reviews so seems pretty decent.
They do a variable magnetic one for £111:

I had been thinking about a set of rollers, but after watching too many videos on youtube of people just falling straight off I decided to stick with a turbo, I got an utterly crap sense of balance!!

Have been running an Elite SuperCrono Fluid (not the new digital one) for 3 months now and been very pleased with it. This one but I paid £170 from Pedalon instore - http://www.parker-international.co.uk/16603/Elite-...
Positives:
One of the quietest trainers I've heard running
Easy to set up
Folds flat when not in use
Stable without having to overtighten the mechanism (which could flex the rear dropouts)
Resistance is good
I've not had any problems with the tyre slipping when getting out of the saddle as some of the reviewers found
Negatives:
Supplied rear wheel skewer is gash but it just sits in my spare RS10 rear wheel so this is a minor fault.
I get tyre rubber dust everywhere from my current Vittoria tyre though so I will probably fit a dedicated trainer tyre when this one wears out, again this is a minor fault.
It's also a bit of a shame that Elite don't include a front wheel riser in the package, I'm currently using an upturned house brick but will get a proper one eventually

Got my delivery from Wiggle today 
Took mere moments to set up, just requiring bolting the roller mechanism to the frame with two allen bolts (key supplied).
Not given it any stick as need to get a spare wheel to put the big red rubber band on you see in the background. Easier said than done these days being a mere 8speed Campag hub. I did get on though and turned the wheel, seems very quite - I still have memories of my old fan trainer!!
I'm sure I won't enjoy my time on it but I'll buckle down anyway, due to a lower back problem I can't actually cycle on the road anyway as I can't stay bent over for very long. With any luck the Christmas excess will melt away just leaving me with the old excess to concentrate on again

Yup, just needed to bolt the roller mech on, had a choice of 3 locations to suit different wheel sizes, dead easy job done!I fluked out with City Link as I was just getting in to my car when they pulled up. Was a bit worried when he only pulled out the one box as I'd also ordered the front riser block, tyre and a new base layer top. Cunningly Wiggle had stuck them all in the Elite box, sneaky devils

I'll be doing a bit of both I think, hopefully I'll find where I've hidden my heart rate monitor. I know I'll struggle on the slow pace fat burner sessions as I naturally tend to push myself plus slow and steady is even more boring on a trainer!Cheers,

Well, the trainer arrived on NYE- and it was finally unpacked and used today.
I really like it! Setting up the unit was easy, even with the instructions doing its best to complicate matters....
Once up and running, it felt very smooth. It took around 3-4 minutes of cycling to figure out the level of resistance it offered and how high the resistance goes.
I did a quick 45 min cycle and I was pleased to pass 10 miles after 40 mins, and then slowed the pace right down to finish at 11 miles at the end of the 45.
