Just tried Avatar - really????
Discussion
So everyone tells me it's the 'best movie of all time', the kids tell me I NEED to watch it.
Well, I just tried, it's on Sky, so thought what the hell, let's see what they're talking about...
Oh dear. Annoying 'blue tinge' f
king everywhere, very poor and stilted CGI/animation, purile story line, wooden 'acting', looks like it was made in the 90's at best.
Utter, utter, s
te!
Or is it just me?
Merry Christmas by the way

Blimey! not this again
There were pages of lovers and haters last time but I personally loved it. Had to be seen on a big iMax in 3D and I thought it was jaw dropping.
I work in the business and there is very little that impresses me especially all the latest flat screen tellys and digital as well as HD TV. The general public have been conned.
Avatar on my decent CRT still looks good and even is very watchable on my iPod or HTC. To be honest all films look like bad 90s effects on modern flat screens and that's why our engineers hate them.

Has there EVER been a film that was 'bigged up' to you that exceeded your expectations? Anyone?
I really liked Avatar but I missed all the hype, if I hadn't it might not have lived up to it perhaps.
I missed the hype for Inception too, another one I liked.
It's a Wonderful Life was not worth it though - loads of people raved about it, THEN I watched it!

To be fair to Avatar, you needed to watch it in the cinema, in 3D to 'get it'.
