My OH drove 150 miles last night with no oil cap on, and yet it didn't loose enough to risk engine damage. Ok, engine bay was a little messy, but main thing is it was still just on min mark on dipstick. Very lucky i thought, she'd topped up oil and forgot to put cap back on!
