I am, taking a 1.8 non-turbo A4 from deepest darkest Wales to Cardiff, and then at approx 4am Boxing day morning, will be setting off at the wheel of a somewhat more interesting V8 Range Rover, destination: French ski slopes!

In my experience, if you drive once on Christmas Day you then become the 'nominated driver' for the rest of the day.

So in answer to the question - NO.

Im going to start drinking at breakfast!

If the roads were clear, yep, but as it is (made worse by living on a hill in the sticks) the 944 will be staying in the garage.

Yep, nice and early, one of the few days a year you can enjoy yourself.

The last couple of years I have gone out with the g/f driving, it's the only day she will drive my car, a whole years insurance for an hour on xmas morning!

A drive yes, bit not just bcos I can - a 15 mile round trip to get some Christmas dinner and the Porsche will stay locked up in the garage in favour of the Legacy...

I'll be driving from London to Rutland and back, but for family rather than for the sake of it.

Every year I'm surprised how much traffic is out there on Xmas day, it isn't as quiet as it used to be.

I will be going out for a bit of a spin tomorrow. Quite looking forward to it. I doubt I will go nuts because it's going to be snowy and icey, but at least I will not have to worry about being tailgated by a truck cab who thinks he is faster than the Millenium Falcon like happened the other night.
