I've been using one for the last couple of days, so If anyones interested, here are my thoughts:

Positive

Refined
Good Looking but relatively understated
Good roof design
Good front seats
Good headlights
Image(can't decide if this is a positive or a negative)
Front seat belts that motor out on "stalks" to make them easy to reach when you turn on the ignition.

Negatives

Very poor interior space, almost zero rear legroom If I was driving (6.0ft)
Very poor boot space
Heavy steering
Shockingly offset peadal spacing, clutch pedal is inline with the centre of the steering wheel, causing the driver to twist his/her lower body.
Fuel economy not great
Some of the interior plastics not up to a standard I'd expect for a circa 36k car, certainly around the stereo area.
No sat nav as standard?
Bang and Olufsen stereo (Optional I believe) quite poor, no matter how I adjusted it
Rear seat belts that both would not retract on a 5 month old, 7.5k mile car.

Would I buy one? No.

Looks the same as an A4 cabrio to me.

Nothing wrong with it, just not very inspiring, no sense of occasion, which is what i think you'd want with a soft top.

Its a diesel cabriolet. The dag dag dag and a drop top combined don't make sense.

I'm surprised it has heavy steering, not many modern cars you can lay that criticism at

Yeah, I was surprised at the heavy steering. I'm not talking about non-PAS effort, but enough to notice and certainly the heaviest PAS set up that I've ever driven. This was on the std 18's.

Regarding the diesel in a soft top comments, this was certainly the best installation of the VAG CR TDI lump that I've ever experienced, very very refined. Certainly would not put me off.

Did he ever re-appear, or did he get the piss taken that much that he took the hump?

I bet he is still a lurker though smile

And not very reliable, I know of one that has had a huge amount of problems, most unresolved. Another that has had a massive amount of problems as well.

Doesn't the UK spec have the variable steering? These things are EASY to steer, I don't know why you had some problems. The rear seat IS useless, but not many cars have useful seats in the back.
