Well the time as come for me to look at changing my current car. (1.6 Astra Sxi 2001)

Been fortunate to now work alot closer to home than previously so i'm looking to chop my cheap to run 1.6 astra in for something better due to my fuel bill dropping.

Reason being, only gonna do about 300 mile a month so dont mind having a bigger engine as its not going to do space ship miles.

Requirments are,

Has to be a 4/5 door (kid/Dog/Wife)
No more than 3k ( i know its a small amount)
Age and mileage not really an issue if its been looked after.
Just for general town/dual carrage way driving. With the occasional motorway thrash up north to see parents.

My thoughts was a VRS Octavia or maybe a S60 volvo.

Anyone got any other suggestions, recomendations ?

Thanks,Oh Merry Christmas

300 - your posts are sheer genius!
They often have no relevance to the original request but that's a minor detail.
All the best for Christmas.
