Following on from debut & swansong threads, how about nominating albums that bands should have made and then split up? i.e. everything that followed was a let down?

Feel free to be controversial.

It appears boss maight not give us our usual Xmas Eve perk of knocking off at lunchtime so I need to waste some time.

I'll start the ball rolling alphabetically:

AC/DC - Back in Black

I almost agree with the Undertones, but there was the odd track I liked after Hypnotised. The Clash though - crazy talk! Are you saying 'London Calling' was no good?! Equally, U2 after WAR? Seriously?! No Joshua Tree, Under a blood red sky, rattle and hum or Achtung baby?! 'One' is one of my fave U2 tracks!

Agree with Oasis, Morning Glory. If they had all been killed subsequently in some mysterious and RockNRoll way they may not have become the serial mediocrity they sadly did.

Yes. 'Under A Blood Red Sky' is good, but it's a live album of old songs so doesn't count. I concede that there a few nice songs on 'Rattle and Hum', but otherwise... stadium rock of the least endearing variety. The post '...Rope' Clash stuff is all just the boys raking in some cash and not even in the same ballpark as the likes of 'Complete Control'.
