So who is right in this situation? (Parking related- ish)
Discussion
To set the scene, delivery driver needs to make a large delivery of about 190kg split over around 14 boxes. The street it is on is quite snowy with large piles of snow at the side of the road meaning parking off the road on the pavement is impossible, the clear area of the road is only about 1.5 van widths.
Driver is 4 boxes in to the delivery when a car pulls up behind. So driver tells the car driver they would be quicker backing up the 200yards and going around another street because the delivery is quite big and they will be a while. (The streets before and after this one both lead on to the same street as this one connects to.)
Car driver refuses says the delivery driver should move on and come back round because how are they supposed to back up and go another way and why should they it is unfair. Delivery driver tells them they can just reverse and go along another street besides in this kind of weather you have to make allowances for this kind of thing it just can't be helped.
Car driver refuses to go another way and says why should thay have to make allowances for the delivery driver. Delivery driver then ignores car driver and finishes delivery.
So who's wrong?

I'm glad I seem to have 100% approval rate. I thought I was being reasonably fair but was a little worried I might get slated! Silly lady spent around 8mins sitting there rather than taking a sub 90 second diversion in the end
Maybe she just can't reverse.
I gave the last few delivery drivers here a hand unloading their stuff as they also could only park in the road. One of them gave me a free bag of shopping with beer, bread, and bacon. The way I see it is that a little physical effort means the rest of the world flows freely and you feel good about helping someone.
I was in front of someone t'other week when I got in a bit of a pickle on the ice and ended up sliding into a kerb (no damage). Asked them if they'd mind helping me get going, I had tow ropes/eyes and would be very grateful. Lady rather promptly said no, go away. I dug myself out and found it rather funny on the next corner when she was half in a ditch. She flagged me down (read: ran in front of my car on a patch of snow) and asked if I'd help pull her out. I said "don't be stupid" and let her get herself out. Guessing she was well known in the community as on my way back from the supermarket she was still trying to dig herself out.

Normally don't have much time for delivery drivers who are arrogant with their parking but in the situation you describe I think I'd kill the engine and listen to the radio for 10 minutes longer. Eventually the road would be full of waiting cars and people would choose an alternative street anyway.
Some days I could do with an extra 10 minutes for myself!

We live on a dead-end road with a pub at the main road end.
Pub has deliveries of beer (not surprising....)
The 7.5 tonner blocks our road while they do the barrel swaps. Takes about 10 minutes.
People from about 20 houses don't mind.... there was just one women who used to go ballistic if she found herself blocked.
But she's been disqualified for a couple of years due to crashing under the influence and trying to pretend her "mate" was driving. Which shows you the sort of person you're dealing with here.....
Keep on delivering!
