Get up to go to work this morning and spot that the snow has slightly melted meaning a rise in temp, great i think. So I get outside and (remembering that Assumption is the mother of all f
kups.) I jump out on to the drive and up to the car slipping as I get there and jamming my foot and lower leg under it, bending my ankle backwards.
Upshot is a broken ankle (the last 25mm of the Fibula has snapped off) and torn ligaments.
SWMBO, is f
king fuming, I guess that because of all the driving she'll be doing.
Happy f
king Christmas.

Broken bones tend to take 6 weeks to heal for a simple fracture. Best thing you can do his rest it.

Back in 2001 having just returned from three weeks skiing I jumped over a very small garden wall, slipped and caught my right foot breaking the ankle to bits. Four months in plaster and now have pins holding it all together. I might have had a drink at the time.
Good luck with it mate, get well soon.

Ouch!
Broke mine (both Tib and Fib) nearly 3 years ago now - had various pins inserted, plaster for 6 weeks, crutches for 3 months and 18 months of physio. Then had the metal work removed last month as it was never 100%, and one of the pins had come loose and was digging into the Tibia, so currently limping around with more physio to look forward to in the new year!
