Heres my little rant:

I went to an out of town Argos yesterday evening to pick up some gifts for the OH, when I entered the car park it was very sloshy but grip was ok, as I entered I noticed that at least 50% of the cars had made little or no attempt to straighten up or try and get in the parking bays. I then proceed to find a suitable space, I half drive into the space, brake & slide the car into reverse (The Focus has a terrible lock making simple drive ins all but impossible), I check my mirrors only to see them filled with some crappy Jap 4x4 thing...

No exageration but he must been about a foot off the back of my car and cant have had much more the other side. I thought his inpatients was rediculous, I mean he would have had to wait about 15 seconds for me to straighten up!

I dont know whether this was inconsiderate, ignorant or just rude? Any one else experience this kind of behavious in car parks?

I don't think it's right that inpatients are being seen and treated in car parks. What is the world coming to?

I think it was you being impatient. I mean, what's wrong with waiting ten seconds for him to move away from the rear of your car?

Seriously though, the amount of spackery I've witnessed in car parks of late has absolutely gobsmacked me and the recent bad weather has made it a gazillion times worse.

So as a result, I've got quite impatient in car parks too. So maybe he just wasn't giving you the benefit of the doubt and/or had already spent multiples of those 15 seconds allowing spackers who can't park their car straight first time to do so and had drawn the line.

Question? If the lock on the car's so bad, why not reverse in?

Edit for topy'.

This should be a standard reply for threads like this.
It already is, but the more important thing is obviously correcting the OP's spelling.

Inpatients in a 4x4? I agree, utterly indefensible. If this is what life under austerity is like, I want none of it!

Are you going for the Obnoxious Post Of The Month prize?

By the way; "PS," should read "P.S." and "Title" doesn't require a capital letter.

You should also avoid starting a sentence with "And".

Yes, I suppose you buy everything from John Lewis or Waitrose and never bought anything from Argos?

I must apologise for my horrific spelling, I posted with a blackberry- that never helps. I do think Pistonheads is becoming more and more arsey and dick head like on said matter though...

OT: I could have and did wait for the jeep to move out of the way, my issue was that he gave me absolutely no time to manoeuvre into the space before he literally squeezed his way through, IMO my intentions were very clear and I think most people with a bit of common sense would have seen that in the above situation.

Waitrose yes... John Lewis?! Good lord no. Nothing less than Harvey Nicks for the Hornet household. You'll find a better class of inpatient in the car park as well.

Well why not try to be a little more patient, and get it right first time then?

Traditionally people didn't start sentences with conjunctions but that is changing as the language modernises. Given that the post was making an awards style announcement the sentence makes perfect sense if you imagine him saying it.

The use of PS or P.S. or PS, if often dictated by corporate style so many different people would have different experiences of what is acceptable.

Having said all of that people driving behind me when I'm reversing are annoying. They see you start to reverse (off my drive in my case) and then insist on coming through the gap behind despite the fact that they weren't moving when I started my reverse.

It's the same company. Waitrose=John Lewis.

I happen to have been working there this week (no, not as a part-time till operator).

I find there are rude motorists everywhere at all times of the year. People also make mistakes that can be construded as being rude whereas that might not be the intention. I no longer let them affect me, as admit if did when younger, as it's their problem and concentrate on my own driving.
The thing that still frustrates me though is use of horn as shouting rather then a warning. In the past I've even stopped, blocking the person who was "shouting" and gone back to have a few words with them. Normally I said with smile on my face "thanks for letting me know but what's the problem" - light out, flat tyre etc. Catches them out every time as they expect an argument and all the have done is delayed themselves further. Put your hand out to shake at end of conversation and see them jump as well (I'm not exactly small) !
Not any more - the tablets work great smile

I think its funny when you have a snow covered car park and people "try" to use the correct spaces. Then the snow melts and you see that they have made a complete hash of it - cars abandoned everywhere and way out of the spaces.... very funny....

But then again, I am odd.

Argh, it's a ballache explaining...

John Lewis = massive communal out of town shopping centre car parks, and you get low lives in there at Christmas. Those low lives don't venture into Waitrose.
