So we had a central heating system installed almost a year ago with Condensing boiler.

We have created an additional room , but of course this has no rad/heat in.
So the simple conclusion is to add another rad to the system.
Problem is where to tap it from.

Can you tee into the pipes that are on show that attach to the rad - or do you need to tap into a run of pipe between rads?

All pipes are under the floor so was hoping it would be as simple as teeing of the 6-8" of pipes on show from where it comes out of the floor and up to the rad...

Thanks in advance

I'm sure somebody more knowledgable will come along & give a good answer but I added a radiator in an extension built before I bought the house, the plumber tee'd it off of the bedroom radiator above but it doesn't get properly hot & therefore doesn't warm the room meaning we can't use it in cold weather. The plumber has said he will come back and 'balance' the rads which should help but British Gas who service the boiler etc have told me it should have been taken back to the manifold not tee'd off of the other rad.

Suspected such.
It will probably be lowering the capacicity/efficiency of said rad being tapped.
Guess if it is teed from a run of pipe it will have a more even flow perhaps.

Or maybe my thinking is nonsense!!!

It depends on several factors, really.
The bottom line is whether you have enough flow at that radiator to run another successfully from the same pipework. If it's less than 15mm pipework to that radiator you will struggle, hence the 'manifold' comment above.
However, on a 15mm carcass you can normally run 15,000Btu/hr, which is a good three radiators. It depends, therefore, on where the 15mm is tee'd to the 22mm heating feeds. Once tee'd you will need to do a bit of balancing, but it should be possible, I'd have thought.

Ferg. Thanks for the advice.
So I best try and fish up a few boards and locate either the 22mm feed
to tap off or tap the 15mm feed but away from the rad I was tapping from

I'd have a look to get an idea how much is already off the pipework which is feeding the radiator you're thinking of tee-ing from.
