I have a professionally installed roof aerial and up until recently it's been perfect. Three weeks ago I got a Samsung 32" Freeview HD LED TV and occasionally little blocky lines appear. It seems particularly bad today with the sound stuttering and even repeating itself.

Is it most likely to be TV, aerial, snow or just a crap transmission?

Combination of all of those, but I've found freeview to be quite sensitive to EM interference. My mum's blender will cause the signal to break up, and I have a friend who always knows when the guy from 4 doors down drives past because the alternator in his car kills his TV signal.

Check that there aren't any looped, crossed or knotted power or signal cables in the chain, and try turning off other equipment that might be affecting the signal.

Really daft question, you have checked your aerial connection into the back of the tv? Might just be worth re-seating it, of wiggling it to see if the problem gets worse or better.

hehe I was just about to lay into you for accusing nme of asking a really daft question when I realised you meant it was your question that was daft! (I hope!)

Yes, I have wiggled everything. It didn't make any difference immediately but now, an hour later, it seems to have settled down, so maybe just snow on the line or something?!

I had the same problem tonight, so I don't think you have anything wrong with your aerial, television, cables etc.

Same here in Danbury Simpo. Recently had all the connections professionally installed and checked so as with everything else, seems digital doesn't like the cold.

BBC channels seem unaffected. As well as Babestation (apparently).
