As the searcher warns, don't get our hopes up. However, the last 2 or 3 paragraphs of the article are very substantial, including the aluminum and plexiglass matching the engine's size perfectly. Makeup and women's shoe parts from the 1930's are narrowing the scope a bit as well:

She appears to have been found three or four times already.

Pfft, anyone who watched StarTrek Voyager knows she encountered a wormhole and lived out the rest of her life in the Delta Quadrant.

Still, fascinating story.

Once they have found Amelia, can we send the investigators to Praia da Luz?

No. However, if parts found perfectly matching the model of plane she flew and bits of womens shoes were found that look like hers at takeoff.....well, how much of anything western and 1930ish should be on a Pacific island and in her flight path? smile

Bits of plexiglas, women's shoes and 'Western' stuff found on an island that not only housed a US Coast Guard LORAN station in the war, but was also home to several survivors from a British 1929 shipwreck for some time, together with all the flotsam, jetsom, and wreckage of their 9,000 ton ship.

Not even close to being conclusive.

I thought she was killed by Charles Lindburgh in a botched cover up after she witnessed him accidently flushing his son down the loo.

I think the rescue was just too late. Can't be certain yet.

She just served me coffee in a Diner in Hoboken.
Elvis, The Big Bopper and that band leader were at the next table.

The page wouldn't open for me, but I did catch part of a documentary, they seemed to be considering a lot of stuff that could also be flotsom or jetson.
There was a young girl (now old) that says she heared Earhart on shortwave for one hour fading in and out, but it appears of the thousands of people and governments monitoring the airwaves, she was the only one.

I always get a bit suspicious of these type of programmes especially when they are being shown just prior to a book release. (is there?)

There is another JFK book, so the Dallas footage is back on TV as a marketting ploy.

But I suppose it would be nice for the family if they find something conclusive.

True, but it would be nice to have some closure on such a long running mystery. smile

She may not be in good enough shape to make it into the Vintage Totty thread I suspect.
