Coolant/ Antifreeze

After checking the levels on the Jag today it appears that I need to top up the coolant/antifreeze problem is it says use Jaguar recommended stuff, if I cant find it what will be the best stuff to use?

No it isn't that simple at all.......likewise the "Universal" stuff from Halfrauds should be avoided....
A "get out of jail" mix with all is the Yellow Prestone....only in emergencies though...

I have mixed them before now, never had a problem.

It's one of those things where some will go into panic mode and suggest you shouldn't do it and others will say it's fine.I can find no real evidence that mixing them is bad, but can find many posts from people suggesting it's not a good idea.

It seems people are worried about chemicals mixing and turning stuff to jelly in the system.However, you dig a little deeper and you can read that this will only ever happen if there is a problem with the cooling system anyway.

Would be intsresting if someone could actually offer up some hard evidence as to what happens if you mix them.All I know is, I have never used a manufacturer recommended coolant in my life and if I have mixed others, have never had any issues.
