As per the title....will this be fit to drink?

I've just found it in my Grandma's pantry, stored in a rack with loads of old bottles of single malt. drunk

It's a 1924 vintage but will it be fit to drink on Christmas day or should we have another bottle on standby? biggrin

I find it quite fascinating, do you have a spare seat for Christmas dinner?

Drink it. You won't get as much if you sell it as an individual, as there would be no certainty or provenance that it has been well stored over the years. And it's free to you, but if you sold it would you ever buy another?

Go for it. Something to tell the kids about. Making of a family legend. Drink and be merry, it's Xmas!

I'd say drink it. The stand in value to you is £0 and it should be a great drink experience provided it has survived.

Crikey! £450!? That's quite steep! biggrin

Her pantry is like a treasure trove, last year we had a 1959 bottle of red and it was lovely! So mellow! Nothing has really moved in there for the last 30 years and it's dark with a constant temperature - maybe it will have kept OK like the wine has? Anyone for a 1975 Riesling? wink

This WILL be getting drunk - I can confirm that!

Only if i can come too, and we play musical chairs.......

If it has been kept well, ie on its side and cool, and you decant it on the day it should be fantastic.

enjoy....... Keep one in reserve just in case.........

I have two bottles of Kopke 1970, but they haven't been kept very well and have been stored upright for several years as the corks were weeping. I fear they may be ruined.
