I have a set of 19inch wheels on a Lexus IS with 235/35 tyres on.

Over this last couple of days, both rears have lost pressure. So much so that one was almost flat today, I drove about half mile to a Tyre Centre, where they checked for a puncture - No nails etc.. but there was a very small leak from the seal to the rim.

When the fitter removed the tyre, he said that running it almost Flat had probably damaged the side wall.. suggesting replacing the tyre. Although there was a little dust inside the tyre, it wasn't bad.
He put the original tyre back on, after a good clean of the adjacent rim (he said it didn't look damaged)
Sealed OK - up to pressure.

Then, as I was driving tonight the other rear felt soft under steering.. Next stop garage for Air.. again very low pressure.

2 questions..

  • Can this cold weather have an effect on the seal to the rim..? As this is a very low profile tyre on a big rim..? I know I haven't dinged the rims or damaged the tyre.
  • Running almost flat..! Is it really a new tyre required with this reduced pressure and such a small side wall.?

Even budget tyres for these are approching £200 each - an expensive few hundred yards when lost pressure.

No - I don't have a stalker letting my tyres down.

You could have a dink in the rim giving it a flat spot.
Are they the right width for the wheel?

You can get a black rubbery bead sealer which would stop those problems.

Put real wheels and tyres on, instead of cart wheels and rubber bands. Job done. More comfortable too.
