After turning down the Cat D 535d M Sport Touring, I am in need of an estate in short order. I have seen a nice C Class and wanted to look at the alternative of the 330d Touring.

This car is in budget but a long way from us - I have been subjected to the 'Excellent condition' line recently only to find that my standards are somewhat higher than theirs with respect to condition and wasted a day travelling.

If anybody is near Doncaster and would not mind popping across to see it, would you let me know.

Thank you

Sorry if I come across blunt here, but why on earth would you trust the judgement of a random stranger on a forum, to see if a car is worth buying?

You may as well just call the person up who is selling it and ask him if it worth buying!

I can just see the '[insert username] is a twunt' after someone looks at it, you buy it and it turns out to be a dog.

I could , on the otherhand be completely wrong, a retired AA inspector may pipe up in a minute and offer his services FOC , but I doubt it.

I appreciate what you are saying but I am not asking for a full inspection or hold anybody accountable. More a once over to say it is clean and tidy, documentation looks fine, seller seems genuine etc. If it is all positive then it would be worth me jumping in the car for the slog up - if not, no wasted journey.

I guess you have to sometimes trust people even in this day and age.

Why not ask the seller for the details of the last keeper?.
