Use of 'Progressive' as though its actually good
Discussion
Very tired of hearing politicians from all parties over-using the P word - do they actually know what it means, and more to the point, I`m very concerned that the general public dont have a clue what it really means either. Seems to have become the key buzz word since the Uni fees issue...anyone else notice this? Its as if they`ve all been handed a script.

Progressive means "unfair" afaik, in that you make those who earn more pay a higher % for something, or more for the very same item.
Fair being where they pay the same % as everyone else, or the same price as everyone else.
And yet ironically, 'the left' will argue that any policy that is NOT 'progressive' is unfair....Fair being where they pay the same % as everyone else, or the same price as everyone else.

The use of the word Progressive seems pretty clear to me, for those who don't know it is "Favouring or advocating progress, change, improvement, or reform, as opposed to wishing to maintain things as they are",
So in what way is a progressive tax policy 'advocating progress' ?sidicks said:
