Thorn in my thumb?
Discussion
Whilst checking the bird feeders yesterday afternoon, I think I got a thorn stuck in my thumb. I felt a pin prick and thought nothing more of it. There were thorns around, but I thought I was being careful.
Last night my thumb got very painful around the left nail area, so did a quick google and thought I might have picked up a nail infection...a while later on I remembered the earlier pin prick.
This morning I have a painful red swollen thumb - no pain around the nail area. I've had a good squeeze to try and be rid of whatever is in there. A small amount of clear liquid is all that comes out.
Is it most likely to be a thorn, or could I have been bitten by something else?

Apply magnesium sulphate twice daily and warm water soaks, will hopefully help. I expect it's the beginnings of a paronicyia (or however it is spelt)
Yes, slather it in that magnesium stuff. Keep it elevated as well if you can. Hope it doesn't turn out to be too painful. Here is what happened to my finger (paronychia).... and video of how it ended
