Something has just occurred to me.

Compared to average income say 20 years ago, how much higher (as a percentage) are fuel prices today? I know the price itself has risen sharply but average incomes are higher...

330ml of coca cola = 70p
1 litre of petrol = 121p

people just like a good moan because most of that 121p is tax and we all hate tax but coca cola is nothing more than sweetened carbonated water with flavourings and colourings, its not like it goes through anything like the same process as petrol!

We don't need coke to get us to work in order for us to earn a living.

Nor do we need to earn a living just to pay massive amounts of tax.

I pay ~25p per 330ml when I buy in 'bulk' (24 cans), so by that token I'd like unleaded at £0.43 per litre when I take a full tank please.
