Is it just me, but the moment you buy something shiny and new, all sorts of things happen to try and take the edge off?

My new V70 is merely 5 weeks into ownership with me yet.

Week 3 - Goes back to dealership who kindly sort out the odd trim that Volvo fitted and pitting on alloys

Bearing in mind its covered 30k you think ok, no big deal, dealership are great and get it all sorted.

Get car back, snows heavily, cars rubbish in snow and gets left in the drive.

Then finally get car dug out to go for some milk...BANG there goes the windscreen (thanks lorry).

3 Days later fitters turn up with wrong windscreen and in -8 - FAIL.

2 Days later call to say new windscreen arrived in pieces - "sigh" ok

Yesterday - find dent on front wing, recent, 2-3 days old, really obvious place but no reason why its there as cars not moved!

Last night - Got THAT smell in the cabin while driving.

Not a nice smell, slowly working its way up from the pedals - tickling the senses, rolling down window proves outside is fresh. It can only be one thing - DOG DIRT ON MY SHOES, PEDALS, CARPET.

So I have covered all of 1000 miles yet had more happen to it in that time than in 3 yrs owning my previous.

So right now waiting for the fitter to turn up who has to deal with camera on the windscreen (lane departure system) dimming mirror and rain sensors. I don't hold out much hope for this going well - I am also sending pics of the dent to dent devils to see if it can be removed.

Quite hacked off really.

Ha, I can beat that, in the first two weeks of ownership of a Vauxhall, I had a driveshaft snap, radio that went onto full volume everytime you went over 40mph and stayed there until the dealer reset it, electric mirrors that decided to adjust themselves fully inwards then blow the fuse, random unlocking of the central locking, power steering fluid leak etc etc.

It went on like that for 6 months, then i sold it for a loss and bought a Volvo, which was pretty good!

The first day I had a (spanking) new astra, got a puncture, locking wheel nut key broke as soon as I used it, spent the day sitting in Vauxhall dealer.

Dogs; they make a nasty noise at one end and a nasty smell at the other.

I'm so sick of having to pick dog s**t out of my kid's bike tyres, scooter, tyres, pushchair tyres, etc etc.

I had one of these. Going back about 12 years I managed to save up & buy a Series 1 Escort RS Turbo ( I wish I still had it tbh). Anyway me & the mates went to the local nightclub with me as the designated driver & while we were in there, there was an annoucment "would the owner of a white RS Turbo please go to security". Basically some thieving git had tried to nick it damagig the door & iginition lock in the process. I had to call a tow truck to get it home & then as we were pushing it on to the back of the truck we I heard a crunch - I'd forgotten to take the toe eye off. Not a happy bunny

Ok glad its not just me then.

I have had the odd feck it it's getting sold moment!

Update

Window fitter appeared, looked at sky and asked if space in garage - nope - so thats postponed.

Carpet all nice and clean...

However DO NOT scrub your drivers matt clean then pop it in the tumble dryer - it breaks up and leaves you frantically hoovering plastic up before the wife comes home.

That one at least was me being stupid biggrin

Completely O/T - But I agree.

I am sick and fed up of it too - up here feels like nowhere to walk where you won't pick up some mess. I can't even let my little one run free on some nice forest walks thanks to the piles of the stuff everywhere - its disgusting.
