king way you wouldn't notice if you did that to another car.
Did the miserable chickenst perp leave insurance details? What do you think?
There was a glimmer of hope that something had been caught on CCTV but while I was trying to contact the manager, there was a powercut. By the time he got power back, the whole of the CCTV footage had wiped itself clean.
Can anyone spot the flaw in the security sytem that erases itself if the power goes off?
Fanbloodytastic! So a minimum of £500 excess if I claim on the insurance and no end of trouble if we can't match the paint up effectively, to the point of possibly having to get a total respray.

kers!That really sucks. Hope you get it sorted ok. My car was Cat D'd by another driver distracted by her daughter a few years back. I had just spent a month completely re-working the interior. In my case the car was rebuild better than ever. But really hurt emotionally and lost the use of the car for 3 months

I know how it feels as I've had the same done to me but the guy was good enough to stop. I too ended up doing the whole respray thing.
But I can see 2 real plus points in this.
1. You get a shiny new respray
2. You can get a Chimaera front end put on and improve the looks even more, that'll only leave the rear to do.
Like I say, been there, got the T-Shirt, came out the other side OK. If you want to chat it over, or to vent and curse you've got my number I think?

I work for a CCTV manufacture, and I don't know of any systems that delete on a power cut, 90% of systems now record to HDD, most will store from 7 days to 3 months, only way it could happen is if the power cut caused the HDD to crash, more likely though the shop keeper is pulling a fast one, as he can't be arsed to find and save the data for you.
A great shame.
The problems and expense this person has given you and I bet they are happy they have got away with it. At least it happened at this time of year and not during the active summer months. As has been said, see if the manager can make more of an effort to find the cctv recording.

Hi mate..sorry to hear that some joker has done that to your pride and joy..Last year when it snowed someone side slammed my rover while i was sleeping,Ok it was only a rover but its the principal and this year i was constantly looking outside as i have a TVR ...A few years ago i owned a classic 520 Beema(mint) and that was subject to continuos bumper bashing by ste drivers,eventually it looked that bad i got rid..Iam seriously considering a bumper cam for the TVR once restored,Triggered only by a pressure switch so if any bd bumps it hard enough it will take a pic of their number plate..Like mentioned it is criminal damage and something has got to be done about it..Ziga

I was a bit surprised that the CCTV disapppeared as well - seems an incredible oversight by whoever designed the system. Anyway, waiting to hear back from him...
