Thinking about getting the staff a hamper (one each, obviously hehe) for Christmas this year. Anyone have any links for online purchase? Nothing too daft...circa £75

TIA smile

Might sound 'cheap', but my girlfriends previous place just went to a supermarket and spent the same amount per person but got close to double the stuff. They then just took a box home full of stuff.

They were chuffed, and were not bothered by the lack of hampers!

Wanders in, trips over a pile of hampers and, lands in a pile of tinsel. Picks self up, wanders out muttering 'thought it said humpers'.

My old man does the same as none of the staff here go to the staff do.
He spends about £20-£25 per head on them, goes to sainsburys & gets one of those posh sack type shopping bag things & fills it with stuff, bottle of spirits, wine, some beers / ciders, chocolates, christmas, treats etc etc.
Everyone much prefers it.

I looked at these two first. Just felt that the Fortnum's one you'd be paying more just for the name

have been given a few hampers over the years and easily the best by far were the fortnum ones

whilst you get less the food is far nicer

John Lewis do some good ones, not too expensive either.

+1 this.. I usually get 2 or 3 most years and they are by far the best.

Not online but Costco do some really nice hampers at a variety of prices. I love looking at them and aspire to someone being generous enough to buy me one!

But you are learned people. The staff members I have in mind wouldn't know the difference between Fortnums and Aldis.

They certainly WONT be getting one of theseyikes

For £40 a head you could do nice champagne (lots of offers on) in a gift bag with very posh truffles.

Who wouldn't want to receive something like that?

hampers have to be one of the worst gifts going , chances are the staff will have done all thier xmas shopping before hand , and wont have much use for doubles or a posh box full of random stuff theyd never buy

i think a fistfull of sainsburys vouchers would be a nicer choice

Good point.

At my last company everyone (some 200 employees) got M&S vouchers for Christmas.

These are (or at least were) discounted depending on the volume you buy.

^^^^ That's a tad impersonal though.

ETA: Not sure how these fare with above mentioned but, Makro have hampers too.
