I am trying to get a good cherish plate for my car from the DVLA.

I noticed that you can get the following prefix format:

Letter-Number-Number-Number-Letter-Letter-Letter

with the numbers being 111,222,...900,999. However the number combination "911" is NOT available.

Surely the DVLA would be able to sell a lot of these if it were available? Is there any reason why they have not made it available?

My guess is that the 911 plates will end up in the cherished plate auctions

I found the following website in the topic "DVLA website down - Want to buy a plate..."

http://www.numberplates.com/issued.aspx

It seems to suggest that the X911XXX plates have been issued as standard plates and are no longer available for sale. :-(

Very nice! Why can't you transfer it?
